Final Fantasy VI - Day 1 (In Which I Suck at Titles)

What... what am I doing here again? How... did I get here? Why... but... I...

It's That Guy. He's a freaking WIZARD! I mean, he starts talking to me, somewhere after the first thirty seconds, I start ignoring him... and then the next thing I know, I've agreed to do something I said I wouldn't do again! It's like mind control! Or... short attention span control... or puppies...

Well in any case, hi again. It looks like I'll be your entertainment, or lack thereof, for the weekends once more. I am not, repeat NOT, playing another Pokemon game, I'm playing Final Fantasy 6... which was apparently released as 3 in the US because... I dunno, evil kumquats. In any event, let me say that this is my favorite Final Fantasy, for a variety of reasons, but the main one being angry midget clown. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Kefka rocks my socks, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I mean, who else in the history of Final Fantasy not only succeeded in destroying the world, but did it because fuck you, destruction? There's also the laugh, but I think that goes without saying.

Now, with all of my rambling out of the way, first let me prove to you that this isn't a trick:

In keeping with the Flailthroughs Pledge! Click About Us if you don't know what that is.
Happy? I'm not telling you any porky pies, this is an actual copy of the actual game, taken with my actual bad photography skills. The peasants rejoice.

Romancing Saga 2: My Kingdom for a Termite Queen

Finally even Walrus learns a new technique, and I get a new spear I hand to Amethyst- it's at least equal to her current Foom damage, and the foil she'd been messing around with uses the same proficiency as a spear. (No idea why.)

So after an entire evening of power-leveling, IT IS TIME. Hey Vegeta, what does the scouter say about our power level?

Romancing Saga 2: Fritz, Royal Exterminator

There's another guy here, and Amethyst loses her second-to-last LP saving him. He says something about the Termite Queen...

...who it turns out is just up ahead and indeed WAS the pulsating tube of Yuck we saw yesterday.

Romancing Saga 2: Coming to Terms.

Some of the ants down here can do 600+ a hit. Amethyst is down to 3 LP. Worrisome. And by the time I start to find my way down here she's down to ONE. Richard's got two. I hate to reset for less than a TPK, but my resources are limited here.

Speaking of resources, I find two chests with money for Avalon as I go: one for 90K and one 60K. Then I find a hole down to a deeper level.

Romancing Saga 2: Getting Antsy.

The furniture in Yuuyan leads me to believe this is supposed to be Japan, or at least Japanesque. The weapons shop has a Katana, one actually named "Katana" in Katakana. Try saying "Katana in Katakana" three times fast, I dare you.

Romancing Saga 2: I think we're lost.

So here we are: deep in monster-infested territory, in an area chock full of dead-ends, short an Agnes, and low on LP. It is not dark and we are not wearing sunglasses, but I'm not ruling that out for later.

Pokemon Black/White- PokeTransfer: a name change that nearly escaped me...

What was the Pokeshifter in Japanese is now the PokeTransfer! To get an idea of how to use it, That Guy's got you covered here.

Mother (Earthbound 0) Flailthrough - FINAL( in which there is a robot, Tylenol, another robot, a cat fetus, and disappointment.)

So I took a bit of time to power level Jeff. I have the distinct feeling that we're getting ready for a big ass fight, and I want him to be ready. I also took the time to try to figure out some of Ness' powers, and maybe come up with their names. I realize that my knowledge is limited, since I didn't want to look at a katakana guide, and the skill translated as something along the lines of "Daifweensui" which sounds far too German to be Japanese.
