Final Fantasy VI - Day 11 (In Which We Have 16-Bit Opera)

Well I wander back to the previous town to look for the item shop so I can buy some more tents for my level grinding efforts (I know they're tents, because when I use them, it shows a tent!) and I seem to have accidentally triggered the next event by talking to some old guy. What is it with old guys and being the plot point monkeys? In any case, I realized something yesterday... I'm going to be doing the opera... IN JAPANESE. Fuck!

Romancing Saga 2: Exit the Wizard, Enter...

Okay, this will probably be a disaster or three, but let's do it!

Note to self: DON'T FIGHT THOSE. (That was the very first thing I saw, incidentally!)

Romancing Saga 2: Tooting Our Own Horn

RyanJyan first- I fully expect the mountains to be where all the action is. We're definitely keeping with our Japanesque theme here. One new item at the weapons shop: a Naginata, which is of the Spear family. I want a spare in case Grace goes down fighting and renders her fancy spear unusable for the rest of this generation; it's not as good as her spear but it's about on par with our other weapons. The townspeople here also mention the name Wagnas, so I'm guessing it's pretty important.

Romancing Saga 2: Is a chest behind a paper door ever REALLY inaccessible?

Here in Chontou I'm getting the martial music, so I'm sure we won't be bored. We also get the fog-of-war bubble when we dash, so we DEFINITELY won't be bored.

Treasure! I'm currently standing behind that door, which will not OPEN. Argh. The second floor has another room of that type which also doesn't open, so we press on.

Romancing Saga 2: 700 Years DO Count for Something!

I check in with the inventor of Sormon, and he has created himself a robot maid. I'm certain it'll have a school uniform somewhere in the house too. He had a question for me, and I answered the first option, which made him leave the house. But I have no idea where he went after that, so it's time to continue the So Nothing Much Has Changed in Centuries, Huh? Tour. I expect the tour to go as well as Charlie Sheen's.

Pokemon Black and White: Global Link Open Early!

I guess it's already April 13th in Japan! Either way, the Dream World awaits.

Pokemon Black and White Global Link/Dreamworld: The Time is at Hand!

I'd heard some earlier rumors, but now it's official: the Global Link and Dreamworld open this Wednesday, April 13th! Get ready to pick up your complimentary Eeveelution!

Romancing Saga 2: Familiar Faces (and hats)

So it's time to go recruiting. I'm thinking I'll get a Medea-type, swing by Nuono for the latest flavor of Enrique, and figure out somebody for that last position. Possibly a Henry- they're usually good with spears, and I want one each of Greatsword, Spear, and Axe mastery. Ferdinand's sticking to unarmed combat- good old Fritz's kung fu still is best. And of course Shigen's going to be making with the Shininess in large quantities. Better try to stay near an Inn while I build up his proficiencies- mages tend to run dry quick in this game.

Final Fantasy VI - Day 10 (In Which Edgar and Mash Become Those Creepy Twins)

I wander around in Narshe for a bit until I find a house I had not looted, and then finally head out to wander around in circles. For shits and giggles, and in hope that it would FINALLY be back, I go check out Figaro, and lo and behold... The castle is back! And the peasants rejoice... Or rather the king and royalty does... whatever. Mash is apparently so surprised to be home, he fucks off. I'll have to hunt him down after I finish going to the shops. With Edgar in front of the party, I get a discount at the stores. Yes, I'm a miser, thank you for noticing. I pick up some more hi-potions (I assume that's what they are because they restore 250 HP) and and ether (restores 50 MP) and then some tools for Edgar, and then accidentally wander into the bedchamber with the twin concubines and take a nap... what a boring way to spend the evening. In any case, it seems that was the right thing to do, because now I have another cut scene, wherein Mash seems to emo over the throne. He sits in it, and seems to notice that it has conformed to fit Edgar's ass, and then we get another flashback. Hooray?
