Final Fantasy VI - Day 33 (In which it's the beginning of the end... and I'm old)

Alright guys, this is our last weekend together. This is the weekend where I head into Kefka's Tower and start the face punching of god-killing. Or something. On a side note, completely unrelated to the game, today is my birthday. I remember when that was a good thing, and something to look forward to... and now I hate the reminder that I'm old, and wonder where the time went... because I'm older than I've ever been, and now I'm even older, and now I'm even older, and now I'm even older, I'm older than I've ever been and now I'm even older, and now I'm older still.

In case you guys hadn't noticed yet, I'm an asshole, which was the entire reason I submitted you to the previous paragraph. Won't you be glad when this is over and I crawl back into obscurity? And now on with the show!

Romancing Saga 2: Beginning of the End

We get the same creepy music here we did where Noel was, and there are snakes. There are pairs of palm trees scattered about with some patches of light greenery surrounding them.

That's more like it.

Stationary gargoyles! DEFINITELY more like it.

Romancing Saga 2: Noel is no Coward

No monsters inside, but I wander across a fight.

Being a good guy and not possibly all that bright, Lance throws himself between the two to find out what's going on. And then the guy on the left mentions Rocbouquet(the Ghost-wielding Stripper) and attacks me.

He is Noel, the one of the Seven Heroes I came here to kill and the one I identified as White-haired Ninja in the intro. That Greatsword of his makes me think I'm about to regret my formation intensely. On the upside, we've got full HP again!

Romancing Saga 2: Just Deserts

Okay, I hate to be a spoilsport, but I've once again consulted the FAQ. I've been at this game for SIX MONTHS and it's time to clear the deck.

To gain access to it, I first have to find one of the two members of the Seven Heroes (as Dantarg, Kujinshi et. al are called) that I haven't yet found and kill them. One of them is in that spot between Toba and Mermaid and involves making a Fishman Potion for breathing underwater, an elaborate fetch-quest similar to the Birdman-Enticing Jug Band effort we went to to dispatch Wagnas.

The other one involves walking into the desert south of Lake Wyringa and finding that vanishing oasis repeatedly until it turns out to be an actual place. I bet you can't guess which one I'm doing!

Romancing Saga 2: Antagonist

The headstone moves to reveal a staircase, leading to an anthill. HOLY CRAP THAT IS A LOT OF ANTS. By some amazing damn miracle I manage to stroll RIGHT through the swarm and hop down the hole as though I'd planned it. Smooth, Lance, smooth. There's a really tall staircase same as there was into the old anthill...

And sure enough, there is the ass-end of a Termite Queen. Plus treasure!

Romancing Saga 2: Dealing with Antholes

After some scampering and light LP loss (Renya's down to 5), we arrive at a door I don't think I've ever gone through before. Oddly, the other exit to the wet bar (Well, it is in the aqueducts or sewers or whatever, so... okay, that was a crappy joke) that's been sealed for 1200 years is still sealed. I expected that to be where I was supposed to go.

It's a mole person! With glowing green eyes! Seeing as they're the last people to be invaded by ants and/or termites, I suspect this will be relevant.

I'm on New Soundwave!

This is not the video we intended to bring you this week, but the new HDD for the computer That Guy has built for that purpose was DOA, and is currently winging its way back to Newegg. But fortunately we've got something else for you! This week I was on New Soundwave (the TF Radio Network's video games podcast) discussing, among other things, the Wii U's potential price and some of the awful, awful things you'll find in the alien spaceship level of Duke Nukem Forever. I'm the bearded one labeled "Rob Clay," as this happens to be my name. (Rob Clay, not The Bearded One.) Or if you're just looking at the preview pane there, I'm the swirl in the bottom right corner.

I had a lot of fun recording on New Soundwave with John, Peter and my best friend ExVee (he of Figurereviews.com and Superhero Time fame) and it looks like I may get to be a regular co-host!

Final Fantasy VI - Day 32 (In which I'm still out of funny)

Alright kiddies, I have everything I can think of, so now to tie up loose ends. First of all, Gau. He has a father, time to introduce them. I look around and on the land mass with the dinosaur forest, I find a lone house. Alright, let's see if it's the right one. It seems so, since we get a scene and then we all walk out and the story begins! Not that I can read it... Everyone play dress up with Gau as their doll, and Tina says something... and then Mash pisses her off:

'What do you MEAN 'At least he HAS a father,' you jackass!?'
